PURPOSE:To adjust a low frequency sound in a state most suitable for the method of use and the environment by providing a slide shielding plate capable of varying the area of the sound wave radiating hole of a flat speaker. CONSTITUTION:The slide shielding plate 8 is attached to a rear yoke plate 1. When the sound wave radiating hole 7 is fully opened by sliding the plate 8, the low sound frequency characteristic of such flat speaker comes to be as shown by a code 9 in the figure. When the hole 7 is fully closed by sliding the plate 8, the low sound frequency characteristic comes to be as shown by a code 11 in the figure. That means that the amount of low frequency sound radiated from the speaker is the largest in the former case, and the smallest in the latter case.
