PURPOSE:To automatically execute the correction of skew distortion with a comparatively simple and inexpensive constitution by switching a video signal in the higher level channel selected from each output RF signal of two cannel of phase difference correction circuits and outputting the video signal of the selected video signal. CONSTITUTION:The phase difference correction circuits 2 and 3 respectively outputs video signals in respective channels R-ch and L'-ch whose phase differences are respectively corrected. Said outputs are inputted to a voltage comparator 15 to generate a switching signal S3 to switch the switch 16 of a phase reference signal generator circuit 1 to the channel of a higher level. Also, chroma components are extracted by respective band-pass filters 31 and 32, and a switch 33 is switched by means of a channel switching signal S3 in order to obtain consecutive low-frequency-converted chroma signals free from inter-channel phase error. As a result, any color blussing and the like is eliminated from a picture.
