In a tachograph for motor vehicles, it is provided that the recording devices are permanently connected to the display devices, that the tachograph disc carrier is arranged in a separate chamber of the housing which is offset laterally relative to the main dial, and that the styluses (pens) are arranged over the tachograph disc likewise laterally offset relative to the main dial and are connected to the recording devices via a rigid bridge part.
