A fuel injection device for internal combustion engines has a plurality of injection valves (21-24), which are opened by relieving the nozzle needle rear side and closed again by loading it. In order to reduce the design and circuitry cost, relieving and loading of the nozzle needle in each injection valve (21-24) is performed by way of a respective control line (25-28), which is connected to a single manifold (16). The manifold (16) terminates in a valve arrangement (15) and a throttle (17) and is connected by these to a control pressure accumulator (10) and a relief line (18). The control pressure in the manifold (16) acts on the rear sides of all nozzle needles and can be abruptly reduced by switching of the valve arrangement (15), as a result of which the injection valves (21-24) open. A distributor (33), which is connected either to the injection lines (29-32) leading to the injection valves (21-24) or to the control lines (25-28), allows only one injection valve (21-24) to open at a time (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
