PURPOSE:To shorten a waiting time and to attain an emergency communication by constituting a system so that the holding information is issued to a central processing unit from the key telephone system on the held subscriber's side key telephone set by executing a specific operation, and the central processing uinit, after receiving this information, controls the display on a key telephone set with display on the holding subscriber's side key telephone set and issues a message display to the holding subscriber. CONSTITUTION:If the specific button operation on the key telephone set 1b on the held subscriber's side is executed, for instance, a dial button 17a among dial buttons 17 is depressed, such message display instruction information is inputted to the central processing unit 12 through a data bus 3b, a data interface 14, and an I/O interface 13. Accordingly, the unit 12 is caused to operate by such input of the message display instruction information, and outputs the message display information to the key telephone set 1a on the holding subscriber's side thorugh the I/O interface 13, the data interface 14, and a data bus 3a. As a result, the key telephone set 1a on the holding subscriber's side can display a message in a display part 19 by the input of such message display information.
