Pressure cooker, consisting of a pot provided with pot rim flange segments and of a lid provided with corresponding lid rim flange segments, the lid receiving a sealing ring which bears on the inward-facing annular face of the lid rim, the inward-facing annular face (8) of the lid rim being provided with a profiling (23, 24, 25, 26, 31, 34) which counteracts a squeezing-out of the sealing ring (12) from the lid (5) in the region of the flange gaps (16). The profiling of the inward-facing annular face of the lid rim can be constituted by beads or knurling, these being provided either running all the way round or only in the region of the flange segment gaps. <IMAGE>
