PURPOSE:To automatize the groove profiling in the lap welding of a thin plate and to uninformize the welding bead by rotating an arc inside a torch and conducting the torch so that the arc voltage waveform thus obtd. is always coincided with the arc voltage waveform of the normal position of the above of the groove. CONSTITUTION:When the inner cylinder 8 is rotated via a rotation transmitting gear 11, an eccentric electrode 6 rotates the periphery of the center line 7a of a torch 7. Since a fixed welding current is flowed on the electrode 6 and an arc is generated, the arc becomes the rotary arc reciprocating the above of the upper plate 2 and lower plate 3 with transferring along the groove line 4 with setting the center line 7a to the groove line 4. At this time the arc voltage waveform varies because of the arc length varying. The groove profiling can automatically be performed by detecting this with a sensor and conforming to the arc voltage waveform of the position of the above of the groove line 4. |
