PURPOSE:To form an electrophotographic sensitive body long in life by laminating a layer containing a strong dielectric component at least on the surface side of a photoconductive layer, and maintaining electrostatic contrast high and residual potential low even at every microscopic area. CONSTITUTION:The layer 5 containing the strong dielectric component is laminated at least on the surface side of the photoconductive layer 2 of a vapor deposited film of Se, Se-Te alloy, or Se-As alloy forming an electrostatic latent image. The electrophotographic sensitive body is provided with the layer 2 on a conductive substrate 1 of a film subjected to conductivity-enhancing treatment with a metal or an alloy, or made of InO2, SnO2, or CuI. The layer 5 is formed by selecting the strong dielectric component from materials having a high dielectric constant at normal temperature, such as KH2PO4, NaK(C2H4O6), or BaTiO3, finely pulverizing it, mixing it with a proper agglutinative agent, applying it on the surface side of the layer 2 and drying it, and laminating it on the layer 2. |
