A mixture-forming system for mixture-compressing internal-combustion engines of vehicles, especially passenger cars, is described, with an intake line (2) in which a Venturi arrangement (11) and a centrically arranged insert body (15), having a fuel-outlet orifice connected to a fuel-metering system, are held. Furthermore, the mixture-forming system (1) has an adjusting device (9) for relative adjustment between the insert-body (15) and the Venturi arrangement (11) so as to vary the flow cross-section, the said adjusting device (9) being connected to an accelerator pedal (32) randomly actuable for power adjustment. In order, in any position of the accelerator pedal, to guarantee an easy adjustment of the adjusting device (9) uninfluenced by the negative pressure forming in the intake line, the adjusting device is to have an actuating piston (17) which acts as a compensating piston and is connected to an actuating element (15) executing the relative adjustment and which can be loaded counter to a restoring spring (21) by a negative pressure prevailing in the intake line (2) downstream of the Venturi arrangement (11) in the direction of flow, for the purpose of compensating the load exerted on the actuating element by the negative pressure. <IMAGE>
