A device for producing thin sheets from flowable materials is described, which comprises a rotating roll, a doctor assigned to the said roll and a charging device which is arranged upstream of the said doctor and has an outlet slit for the flowable material, in particular synthetic resin. The doctor is supported, directly on the roll circumference, on guide rollers which are arranged outside the sheet width determined by the outlet slit. This design has the advantage that eccentric deviations of roll circumference, which may be caused by manufacturing tolerances, and expansions of the roll due to temperature cannot affect the sheet thickness. The adjustment devices and holding devices for the doctor are, in this manner, also not able to impair the sheet thickness as a result of any temperature deformations.
