<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a ringing from occurring at the contour part of an image by providing a means to stop the adding of the higher frequency components of a brightness signal to its lower frequency components and a means to detect an adding-stopping signal, and controlling said adding-stopping means. CONSTITUTION:In case of receiving a signal generated by remodulating a once- modulated high-definition signal for purpose of such as special effect, since an adding-stopping signal is broadcasted from the broadcasting station, the adding-stopping signal detection circuit 116 switches a switching device 108 so that it outputs a null signal '0'. Accordingly, the high frequency component of the brightness signal which is the output of an HPF 107 is not addied with the low frequency component of the brightness signal which is the output of a subtractor 105, and the output of the latter 105 is directly comes to the output of an adder 109, hence a signal of a 0.0-4.0MHz that is the low frequency component of the brightness signal is outputted as a brightness signal. As a result, since the high frequency component whose phase is different from that of the low frequency com ponent of the brightness signal is eliminated, a brightness signal free from ringing can be obtained.</p> |
