<p>PURPOSE:To easily and economically recover Ga in high efficiency, by adding metallic Al, a metal baser than Ga, to a Ga-containing basic aluminate solution and by precipitating Ga by substitution. CONSTITUTION:The powder of metallic Al, which is a metal baser than Ga, preferably of <=about 1% impurity content is added to the Ga-containing basic aluminate solution, by which Ga is precipitated by substitution so as to be recovered. In the above process, it is preferable that, for the purpose of inhibiting the redissolution of the precipitated Ga, the temp. of the above solution at the time of Al addition is regulated to <=100 deg.C, further to about 10-80 deg.C. When the above-mentioned recovering method for Ga is applied to the basic aluminate solution in a Bayer's process in alumina manufacture, the solution after Ga recovery can be recycled and economical advantage in particular can be obtained.</p> |
