摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the size of a screen and to increase a display capacity without crosstalks by moving a film-shaped display medium formed with a high-polymer liquid crystal film in one direction and selectively impressing a microheating element array thereto in synchronization. CONSTITUTION:The film-shaped display medium 1 is coated and formed with a heat absorptive layer 10 for efficiently absorbing the heat supply from a thermal head 7 on a substrate film 9 consisting of a heat-resistant high-polymer film. The cholesteric high-polymer liquid crystal film 11 is formed on the layer 11 and a thin protective film 12 consisting of the material similar to the material of the film 9 is formed on the film 11. The display medium 1 is attached to a display device and is heated by using an erasing head 2. While a specified pressure is kept impressed to the film 1 by a shear stress impressing part 33, the medium 1 is coiled up and is thus simultaneously erased. The microheating elements are arranged in one row to a writing head 7 and the writing of information is executed by supplying signals to the head 7 in synchronization with the winding up of the medium 1.
