PURPOSE:To execute the conversion of (N+1) bits or above with the analog- digital converter of an N bit by overlapping a prescribed higher harmonic signal to an analog signal. CONSTITUTION:As the waveshape of a higher harmonic signal generated by a higher harmonic generating device 1, the saw-tooth shaped wave signal is outputted in which the anplitude is the 1/2 amplitude of a minimum voltage resolution (s) in an analog digital converter. Next, an output signal and an input analog signal from the higher harmonic generating device 1 are added by an adder 2, and it is inputted to a terminal in of an analogdigital converter 3. By the analog-digital converter 3, the adding signal is inputted, the adding signal is compared with a reference voltage Vef, converted to binary data at prescribed times only during one period of an output higher harmonic signal from the higher harmonic generating device 1, and this is sent through output terminals N, N-1...1 to a digital computer 4. Next, by the digital computer 4, the digital converting data signal of (N+1) bits or above can be obtained from the data signal of an N bit sent from the analog-digital converter 3.
