The invention relates to a method for dyeing, colouring and bleaching strands of hair to which, in each case after they have been separated from the remaining hair, a dye is applied, and which are isolated by a film (40) from the remaining hair during the reaction time. The invention is based on the object of providing a method of the generic type mentioned at the beginning and a device for carrying out this method, which, whilst avoiding the abovementioned disadvantages, guarantees dyeing, colouring and bleaching of strands of hair in a more rapid, more thorough and cleaner manner and without appreciable inconvenience for the customer. This object is achieved by the method according to the invention in that each strand of hair is wound onto a hair curler (2, 4), the dye is applied to the strands of hair during the winding operation by means of a brush (9) and/or by means of bristles (3, 5) arranged at regular intervals on the hair curler (2, 4), and the rolled-up strand of hair with the hair curler (2, 4) is seated on the film (40). <IMAGE>
