In order, in a dividing installation for panel-shaped workpieces having a ripsaw (6) and a cross-cut saw and a transfer table (11) arranged between these latter, to be able to separate narrow workpiece strips (30) from the normal workpiece path, since transportation of such narrow workpiece strips through the panel-dividing installation is not readily possible, provision is made, on the delivery side (17) of the ripsaw (6), for a height-adjustable support (25) which consists of a height-adjustable beam (18) and holders (20), arranged thereon, having drivable rollers (21). That part (11') of the transfer table (11) which directly adjoins the delivery side (17) of the ripsaw (6) can be lowered. If the narrow workpiece strips mentioned result during a dividing operation, the support (25) is moved into the gap formed by the folded-down part (11'), so that its drivable rollers (21) are on the same level as the transporting rollers (22) of the transfer table. The narrow workpiece strips (30) are then pushed off onto this support (25). Subsequently, the narrow workpiece strips (30) situated thereon are carried away laterally over an adjoining conveying section which directly adjoins the lowered support (25). The narrow workpiece strips (30) carried away laterally out of the operational sequence in this way are then cut to size on a separate saw. If the support (25) is not used, it is moved up ...
