The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for treating fluidised bulk materials in fluidised-bed apparatuses. The invention relates to processes in the chemical industry, in agriculture and the food industry and in the raw material industry. The aim of the invention is to prevent the discharge of dust from the fluidised-bed apparatus without separating off the dust on a filter surface, to intensify the processing procedure and to avoid the installation of voluminous separators within or outside the fluidised-bed apparatus. The technical object is to remove, by suitable process steps and means, dust particles and/or liquid droplets entrained by the exhaust airstream in the space above the fluidised bed and to return them to the bed. According to the invention, the object is achieved by combining the effect of processing techniques known individually per se, in that the suspended particles ejected from the fluidised bed pass into the calmed zone of the fluidised-bed apparatus situated above the bed, are there charged in the electrical field built up, are agglomerated and fall back into the bed.
