PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of an eddy current and improve the response speed of a moving element, by forming grooves substantially parallel to a magnetic path at a part of a member forming the magnetic path. CONSTITUTION:A core 10 has an inner surface on which a moving element 13 slides, and the inner surface of the core 10 is formed with axial grooves 16. The outer peripheral surface of the moving element 13 is also formed with axial grooves 17. The grooves 16 and 17 have a depth in a radial direction of the core 10 and the moving element 13, and extend in parallel to a direction of a magnetic flux 24 to be generated upon excitation of a coil 9. The direction of the magnetic flux coincides with the axial direction of the core 10 and the moving element 13, and it also coincides with a driving direction of the moving element 13. With this arrangement, an eddy current 26 is partially cut at the grooves 16 and 17 to thereby inhibit the eddy current from flowing in the core 10 and the moving element 13.
