PURPOSE:To obtain a welding wire which is free from the variance in the rate of filling in the longitudinal direction and quality by filling a flux into a metallic tube which is kept oscillated from one end face in the open state of said tube to the other end direction in the closed state while maintaining a gap in the section direction in the tube so as to satisfy the prescribed equation. CONSTITUTION:The straight metallic tube M1 which is horizontally imposed on an oscillation base B is used as a test specimen and one end face thereof is connected via a connecting tube J to the discharge port of a constant rate feeder CF. The gap in the sectional direction of the tube is changed by variously changing the feed rate of the flux F to be fed from the feeder CF or variously changing the moving speed in the tube. The filling rates in the respective parts of the longitudinal direction are measured for each of the test specimens and the average values are calculated, by which the respective test specimens are compared and evaluated. As a result, the variance of the flux longitudinally filled in the metallic tube is decreased and the productivity is improved if the gap in the sectional direction in the metallic tube is set at the range of the value expressed by the formula. The exactly similar action and effect are obtd. from the experimental results even if the above mentioned setting conditions are applied to the metallic tube coiled on a tube.
