CONFIRMING DEVICE FOR ASSEMBLY OF PARTS

PURPOSE:To perform flexible assembly confirmation when different kinds of equipments are detected by the same device by recognizing a difference in area between the light part and dark part in a window due to whether or not an assembled parts is present or not by an image. CONSTITUTION:For example, when plural parts are assembled on the main plate 2 of a timepiece, a lighting device 3 and an image pickup device 4 are fitted slantingly above the main plate 2 and the optical axes of the both are on the same plane and at an equal angle to the main plate 2. An image obtained by the device 4 is sent as an image signal to a recognition part 5, which converts the signal into a binarization signal based on a threshold level in a storage part 6 to generate picture elements. Then, the recognition part 5 computes the area of an image formed of picture elements in the window set based on window information stored in the storage part 6. The area of the shadow of a parts 1 which is computed by the recognition part 5 is compared with the reference area value stored in the storage device 6 and a comparison part 12 decides the presence/absence state of the parts 1.
