<p>PURPOSE:To uniformly collect dust for a long period by arranging an air- permeable insulator on the surface of a counter electrode at the ionization part opposed to an ionization electrode, and exposing a part of the counter electrode from the surface on the ionization electrode side. CONSTITUTION:A dust collecting part for electrostatically collecting dust is provided behind the ionization part consisting of the ionization electrode 1 and the counter electrode 2 in the electrostatic air cleaner for household and an automobile. The air-permeable insulator 3 is provided on the surface of the counter electrode 2 at the ionization part opposed to the ionization electrode 1, and a part of the counter electrode 2 is exposed from the air-permeable insulator 3 on the ionization electrode 1 side. Consequently, the dust charged at the ionization part passes between the insulators at the surface of the counter electrode, and reaches the deepest part of the counter electrode part. Accordingly, dust is not re-entrained by the ion wind, most dust is collected, the load of the rear filter is reduced, and the service life is prolonged.</p> |
