PURPOSE:To enable the precise compensation of the uneveness of recording density without requiring a great amount of memory, by compensating the influence on the density of recording due to heat storage by correcting the amount of energy inputted to each heating element on the basis of the updated contents of heat storage memory. CONSTITUTION:The amount of heat storage corresponding to each heating element 2 is stored in heat storage memory 8. The heat flow information in a thermal heat 1 is sent to the operation means 7 by being detected through one or more temperature sensors 6 and the outflow of heat is calculated. Then, the contents of the heat storage memory 8 are updated. Further, the operation means 7 anticipates each heating amount of the heating element 2 from the data of picture memory 9, calculates the inflow of heat and updates the contents of the heat storage memory 8. Thereafter, the correction amount correcting the influence on the heating amount due to heat storage is calculated as to each heating element 2 and the heating amount of the heating element 2 is adjusted via a half tone circuit 10. The variation in density due to the change in outside air temperature and the rise in temperature during photographic printing are thus prevented and the quality of a recording picture is improved. |
