PURPOSE:To easily add a new color video signal at reproduction by adding a color video signal alternatively to a luminance signal and a color information signal obtained by an image pickup means and a reproducing means. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal Y and a chroma signal C obtained from the image pickup element 2 are fed to the position R of changeover switches 11, 12 from the position M of changeover switches 9, 10. Further, the luminance signal Y and the chroma signal C in an input color television signal inputted from an external input terminal 24 are fed from the position E of the switches 9, 10 to the position R of the switches 11, 12. Further, the luminance signal Y and the chroma signal C subjected to correction processing at reproduction are fed from the position P of the switches 11, 12. Moreover, the switches 11, 12 are thrown to the position P at the reproduction and a color character video signal is added to each signal by the similar processing to that at the recording. Thus, a new color video signal is added easily at the reproduction.
