PURPOSE:To enable the use of a press die both for cutting a long coil and for normal press work by so supporting an upper cutting edge in an upper die as to be movable vertically and providing a lift position changeover means and another means for pushing the upper cutting edge upward. CONSTITUTION:In a normal press work, a maximum lift position restricting plate 18 is fixed at a position for giving the larger liftable distance of an upper cutting edge 13 for an upper die 11. In this state, when the upper die 11 is lowered, the upper cutting edge 13 and a lower cutting edge 14 do not interfere with each other and do not out a coil 'C'. Then, when the coil 'C' is cut, said plate 18 is so positioned and fixed as to shorten the maximum liftable distance of a holder 15 for the upper die 11. In this case, the lower cutting edge 13 comes down compressing a urethane spring 40, due to the lowering of the upper die ll, and intersects the lower cutting edge 14, thereby cutting the coil 'C'. According to the aforesaid constitution, no operation power is required and a burden on a worker can be reduced.
