PURPOSE:To detect a prescribed track with higher accuracy by transmitting the detection signal of a sensor to an interface together with a detection signal showing the prescribed track position under the AND condition showing that plural phase outputs are set under the phase output state at the prescribed track position. CONSTITUTION:When a microprocessor 11 receives the output of a track-0 sensor (photointerrupter 6), the processor 11 decides whether the phase sent presently to a drive circuit 12 is equal or not to a phase-0 state of a track-0 drive mode. If the phase state of the track-0 mode is confirmed, the track-0 detecting signal S is sent to an interface 13 (or a floppy disk controller). In this case of said decision, the processor 11 gives the arithmetic processing to the output of the photointerrupter 6 via a microprogram stored in the processor 11. Thus the correct position of the track 0 is obtained even though the detecting conditions of the photointerrupter 6 have some change.
