NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R<1> is (protected) amino-substituted heterocyclic group which may have halogen as substituent group or group of formula II (R<3> is lower allkyl); R<2> is (protected) COOH: A is lower alkylene which may have substituent group selected from (protected) amino, OH oxo and =N-OR<4> (R<4> is H, lower cycloalkenyl, lower alkynyl, lower alkenyl, COOH-substituted lower alkenyl, lower alkyl, etc.)] or its salt. EXAMPLE:7-[2-( 2-Aminothiazol-4-yl )-2-carboxymethoxyiminoacetamido]-3-vinyl- 3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid. USE:Antibacterial agent applicable by oral administration. PREPARATION:The compound of formula V can be produced by reacting the compound of formula III [Rc is amino, group of formula IV (R<a> is protected amino; R<b> is protected COOH), etc.; R<7> is aryl] with formaldehyde.
