PURPOSE:To efficiently coat and impregnate a liquid material onto and into a base material by coating and impregnating the liquid material onto and into the base material while the base material moves from a supply port to take-out port of an immersion box and removing the excess liquid material by the high-velocity air flow in the take-out port generated by suction. CONSTITUTION:The immersion box 10 is provided with the supply port 11 to supply the base material to be coated on and impregnated in with the liquid material and the take-out port 12 to take out the product subjected to the coating and impregnating. The liquid material is supplied into such immersion box 10 so as to exceed the level of the supply port 11 and the take-out port 12. On the other hand, the pressure in the box 10 is reduced by suction to prevent the leakage of the liquid material from the supply port 11 and the take-out port 12. The liquid material is coated and impregnated on and into the base material during the movement of the base material from the supply port 11 to the take-out port 12. The excess liquid material is removed by the high-velocity air flow in the take-out port generated by the suction. As a result, the excess liquid material is removed while the advantages of a dipping method are maintained and the liquid material is efficiently coated and impregnated on and into the base material.
