PURPOSE:To shorten the inspection time of parts by comparing number of picture elements of each step width of the image output of photography of the parts as an detected value with a reference values in step width units. CONSTITUTION:Chip parts 1 and 1 are photographed by TV camera 6 and 6 and image outputs are inputted to a CPU 4 from the 1st and the 2nd image input devices 20 and 30 at the same time. The CPU 4 sections the image outputs of the parts arranged on a printed circuit board at accurate positions by density levels through a high-speed image processor 10 and stores the number of picture elements of each step width as a reference value previously. Further, the CPU 4 stores the image outputs of the image input devices 20 and 30 and compares the picture element value of each step width sectioned by the device 10 as an inspected value with the reference value in step width units to decide whether or not the parts are arranged at the accurate positions. Further, the CPU 4 processes the image outputs of the devices 20 and 30 while tables 3 and 3 are moved by controllers 5 and 5. Consequently, the inspection time of parts is shortened.
