PURPOSE:To enhance operability, by providing the function of releasing a paper bail when feeding a paper forward from a position at which the paper is not engaged with the paper bail. CONSTITUTION:When a paper is fed backward, for printing on a paper part within l in. From the top edge thereof, after setting the paper through automatic paper feeding at such a position that printing on the paper can be started at a distance of 1 in. From the top edge thereof, the paper is disengaged from a paper bail 31. When the paper is fed forward again after performing required printing or the like under the above condition, the paper will come into contact with the paper bail 31. In such a situation, the paper bail 31 is released from a platen 22, so that the paper can be inserted between the paper bail 31 and the platen 22. Thus, the paper bail is automatically released when feeding the paper forward again after once feeding the paper backward to such a position that the paper is disengaged from the paper bail. Accordingly, operability is enhanced. |
