PURPOSE:To secure oscillations of a rotary head with a large amplitude by extending a plate-shaped electromechanical transducing element at both sides of a head drum by avoiding the the center part of the head drum and fixing the tip part of the extended transducing element to the head drum. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape is wound round a head rum 16 and this drum 16 is revolved. Thus magnetic heads 18 and 26 are set opposite to the tape and the recording and/or reproduction are carried out with the tape. For a dynamic tracking type magnetic head 18, in particular, both bimorph plates 21 and 22 have deformations to correct the shift if occurred between the tracks of the tape and the locus of the head 18. Thus the head 18 is displaced in the direction of the axial line of the drum 16 for tracking correction. As a result, the displacement of a rotary head can be increased with increase of the effective length of an electromechanical transducing element. |
