PURPOSE:To enable the easy selection and exchange of a vibration isolation member by stuffing a material of high specific gravity into a pipe and mounting and dismantling said pipe of length nearly equal to a lengthwise recessed hole to and from said hole open on the rear end of a boring bar having a cutter at the front end thereof and supported at the intermediate part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A boring bar 1 has a cutter 3 on the front end thereof for machining the inside of a material 2, the intermediate part of the bar 1 is formed on a support part 5 retained on a tool rest 4 and a recessed hole 7 is open on the rear end of the bar 1 in a lengthwise direction. And a vibration isolation member 10 is formed in such a way that two pipes 11 and 12 open at one end thereof and closed at the other end, and stuffed with a vibration isolation material 17 such as a waste cemented carbide chip of high specific gravity are connected to each other with a connecting rod 13. Small holes 15 are provided on the peripheral wall of the pipe 11 for the passage of cutting oil and cutting oil from an oiling port 20 runs through the pipe 11 and flows out of a passage hole 22 and an outlet 23. By the preparation of the vibration isolation members of various weight in advance, the material 10 optimum for a machining material is selected and can be easily exchanged.
