PURPOSE:To obtain a simpler ink jet head drive circuit for producing high speed electrical pulses, by providing an electrical pulse waveform control circuit for outputting an electrical pulse waveform control signal and a plurality of piezoelectric element drive circuits for receiving the electrical pulse waveform control signal and a signal for controlling the application/non-application of electrical pulses onto the piezoelectric elements. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head drive circuit comprises an electrical pulse waveform control circuit 1, n piezoelectric elements 31-3n and n piezoelectric element drive circuits 21-2n corresponding to the piezoelectric elements. A controller in a recorder outputs print data D1-Dn corresponding to the injection/non-injection of ink drip, thereafter provides a print timing signal 10 to the electrical pulse waveform control circuit 1. Upon receipt of a signal, the electrical pulse waveform control circuit 1 outputs an electrical pulse waveform control signal to the piezoelectric element drive circuits 21-2n. Thereby such piezoelectric element drive circuits as the print data D1-Dn are ON apply electrical pulses onto corresponding piezoelectric elements. Since the electrical pulse waveform control circuit is shared with a plurality of piezoelectric drive circuits, the drive circuits are simplified. |
