PURPOSE:To fit to change in width of a hoop material in a short time so as to improve working efficiency by making a feeding device an unit so as to be arranged at one side of a hoop material feeding line whereby accomplishing a grip feeding of only one side of the hoop material. CONSTITUTION:A hoop material 21 is guided by tracks 18 through 20 and is fed to a machine tool arranged in the direction A. When an air cylinder 6 of a feeding unit arranged at one side of a passage for the hoop material is energized for driving a head 4 to the direction A, a clamp roller 14 rotates a taper section 22 so as to hold the hoop material between the clamp roller 14 and a base plate 15, thereby forwarding the hoop material to the direction A. The forwarded hoop material 21 is positioned by a pilot pin and the like. Under this condition, when the cylinder 6 is returned to the direction B, a grip between the clamp roller 14 and hoop material 21 is released whereby the head 4 is retreated leaving the hoop material as it is. As mentioned above, as the grip feeding is effected only by the one side of the hoop material, change in width of the hoop material can be accommodated in a short time.
