An indicator (10) for indicating the operation of an instrument such as an air conditioner, car stereo set, or car radio, that is installed in an automobile, comprises a display board (12) and a lens (13), both of which are disposed in front of a light source (6). The display board (12) is made of translucent coloured plastics and may carry symbols. The lens (13) consists of a transparent plastics and is of upwardly tapering cross-section so as to direct the light emanating from the light source (6) in direction (A) toward the driver's eye, and not in direction (B) towards the windscreen of the automobile. The lens (13) may alternatively be partly convex and may be disposed between the board (12) and light source (6). The indicator (10) may be provided on the end of a push-button. <IMAGE> |
