摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify a collating processing by extracting the shape of a three- dimensional object as the function of one variable which is a constant in an image pickup direction from one image picked up from an optional direction. CONSTITUTION:The three-dimensional object is illuminated by an illuminating means 11 and brightness on the surface of the three-dimensional object is picked up by an image pickup means 12 from the illuminating direction based upon the means 11. An image outputted from the means 12 is stored in a brightness storing means 13, inputted to a cosine image forming means 14 and converted in accordance with a function stored in a reflectivity distribution diagram storing means 18. An image outputted from the means 14 is stored in a cosine image storing means 15 and the cosine image is inputted to a probability density estimating means 16 to estimate the probability density to the inverse number of a Gaussian curve from the cosine image. Thus, the feature amount of the three-dimensional object can be extracted as the function of one variable.
