A tambour (T) comprising a series of similar, parallel, interlocked tambour slats (S) which pivot relative to each other. The slats comprise a fabricated substrate having interlocking pivot means (12, 14) which permit each slat to be joined to an adjacent slat and pivot relative thereto. A natural wood veneer layer (V) is attached to the front surface of each slat and comprises a series of joined natural wood strips (20) extending lengthwise of the slat. The strips forming the veneer may be assembled either parallel or in wavey relationship to each other. |
