PURPOSE:To reduce a repetitive starting or stopping operation of a terminal fan and eliminate an uncomfortable feeling given by a blowing sound or a variation in temperature of a dwelling space even if a heating load is varied by a method wherein a duct for connecting a blowing unit having a valve for opening or closing between a suction side of the terminal fan for blowing air into a room and an indoor unit is provided. CONSTITUTION:When an air conditioner is started to operate, entire air blown from a blowing unit 31 passes through a heat exchanger 13 of an indoor unit 15 and indoor temperature is raised rapidly to a desired set value with conditioned air having a high thermal load. Since a terminal fan 50 is of a centrifugal type, the air is injected in a rather reduced flow so as to prevent any floating of conditioned air. As the heating load is decreased, a valve 61 is opened, indoor air in a dead zone D is sucked through the terminal fan 50 and then circulated in a blowing unit 31. Air blown out from the blowing unit 31 has a decreased temperature due to its mixing with sucked indoor air through the valve 61 and the air flow always runs to a dwelling space near a floor surface 9, making temperatures of dwelling spaces A and B constant. |
