PURPOSE:To prevent contaminations of matters in the ceiling or closet and wall surfaces due to leakage of water into a residential room by selecting timer means from the operational frequency of a variable frequency compressor detected by operational frequency detecting means thereby to determined the operation time of the drain pump. CONSTITUTION:When a variable frequency compressor 5 is operated at 90Hz, the frequency is detected by compressor operational frequency detecting means 8, and an input from a first timer 9 is output to a transistor 13 by means of a controller 4. When a time T1 passes, a drain pump 3 is turned off by means of a second timer 10 and stops its operation for a time T2. When the compressor operational frequency is decreased from 90Hz to 60Hz, the operational time of the drain pump 3 is determined by a third timer 11, and the OFF time is the time T2 of the second timer 10. When the compressor operational frequency is further decreased from 60Hz to 30Hz, a fourth timer 12 having a shorter timer time is used, and the drain pump 3 is turned ON/OFF to discharge the drain.
