PURPOSE:To prevent a camera from being used by another person without permission of its owner, by adjusting the operation of the camera after detecting the coincidence between previously set code data, such as an identification number and code data inputted from the outside. CONSTITUTION:When the identification number is inputted from a keyboard 1, corresponding code data are fetched by and stored in a register 4. A coincidence detecting section 5 detects the coincidence between both code data supplied from the register 4 and a ROM6 and outputs a coincidence signal (b) in accordance with detected results. The coincidence signal (b) is a high-level signal which is outputted while the coincidence is detected at the coincidence detecting section 5 and, when the signal (b) is impressed upon a gate G through a CMOS inverter 11, the gate G is opened and the supply voltage of a battery E is supplied to a camera section 19 through a power switch PS. Thus the camera section 10 is set to an operable state.
