PURPOSE:To obtain a gamma-camera diagnostic apparatus having an accelerated radiation/light converting reaction time, by adding desired pressure to a scintillation crystal from the outside and further holding said scintillation crystal at low temp. as it is. CONSTITUTION:A scintillation crystal 14 emits light corresponding to the dose of gamma-rays emitted from a gamma-ray source. The scintillation crystal 14 is held to low temp. using a heat absorbing protective apparatus 32 consisting of a heat conductive metal cylinder 30 and a coil-shaped pipe 34 through which liquid nitrogen flows. Further, the circumferential end of the scintillation crystal 14 is incorporated in a pressure wheel 50 to be pressurized. Therefore, even if the scintillation crystal 14 comprising pure non-mixing sodium iodide is used, light emitting output is not reduced.
