PURPOSE:To reduce the breakdown and warpage of a core section forming each of the inner side surfaces of a peripheral core oppositely faced to both side inclined faces of an internal core, a trapezoid cross section of which is brought into contact with inclined sides, in parallel with the inlined faces of the internal core. CONSTITUTION:In a core 11, a peripheral core consisting of the four surfaces side plate sections 11a, 11b, a ceiling plate section 11c and an end plate section 11d and an internal core 11e projected into the peripheral core from the inner surface of the end plate section 11d are formed integrally by a ferrite material. The inernal core 11e is shaped in a trapezoid cross section while the inner surfaces of the peripheral core oppositely faced to the inclined faces 11e1, 11e2 of the left and right side surfaces of the internal core 11e, the inner surfaces of the side plate sections 11a, 11b, are formed as inclined faces 11a1, 11b1 made parallel with the inclined faces 11e1, 11e2. Accordingly, the mechanical strength of the side sections of the peripheral core is increased, and the breakdown and warpage of the core are hardly generated, thus manufacturing the transformer core proper to the miniaturization and flattening of a small-sized transformer.
