PURPOSE:To reduce the damage of coal stored in the sea and affected by sea water by dividing said coal into lump coal and dust coal with a screen, rinsing the lump coal to send it to a coal banker and pumping the dust coal together with said rinsing water by a pump to dehydrate and supply it to the coal banker. CONSTITUTION:Original coal stored in the sea from a coal hoist through a tripper is pumped up and transferred by a reclaimer to be classified into large lump coal, small lump coal and dust coal with a screen 1. The large and small lump coals are rinsed by ringing water and dehydrated to be sent to a coal banker. The dust coal screened by the screen 1 and once stored in a submarine area defined adjacent the original coal together with water which has rinsed the lump coal is pumped up by a pump 2 and sent to the coal banker after water content is removed by a thickener and a centrifugal separator. Thus, the concentration of salt deposited on coal brought into a combustion installation is reduced to prevent the combustion installation from corrosion caused by salt and save substantially rinsing water.
