PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image which has superior transfer and fixation properties by specifying the range of the magnetic characteristics of magnetic toner when performing magnetic brush development by using a developer formed by mixing magnetic carriers and magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface of an image carrier and the developer formed by mixing the magnetic carriers and magnetic toner is supplied to a nonmagnetic sleeve which is arranged opposite the surface of an image carrier and equipped with a magnetic field producing member internally. Then a magnetic brush formed on the nonmagnetic sleeve is rubbed against the surface of the image carrier to develop the electrostatically charged image. In this case, the coercive force of the magnetic toner is 50-600 Oe and the content of magnetic powder is 10-75wt%; when the content of magnetic powder is 10-75wt%, the coercive force is 150 Oe and when >=50wt%, the coercive force is <=250 Oe. |
