A pad containing vibration-absorbing, high-viscosity, permanently-fluid material extends over an area of the forearm. The pad covers at least half of the area of the extensor or flexor muscles projected to the forearm surface. Pref. the pad (22) is filled with a viscous three-component material system comprising liquid polybutene, a petroleum wax, and a solid filler material e.g. calcium carbonate to produce low thermal conductivity with a viscosity of 100,000 to 1000,000 SUS units at body temperature, and a vibration attenuation rate of 6300 to 1. The pad extends for almost the whole length of the tube (24) constructed from an elastic material and secured to the forearm with Velcro straps.
