PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance, by culturing bacteria capable of producing the titled substance and belonging to Pseudomonas genus in a medium containing L-aspartic acid and an L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester. CONSTITUTION:Bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas genus and capable of producing an alpha-L-aspartly-L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester, e.g. Pseudomonas putida (FERM-P No.6035) are cultured in a medium containing L-aspartic acid and an L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester as well as carbon sources such as glucose, organic acids, etc., nitrogen sources such as ammonia, peptone, etc., calcium salts, etc., at 20-40 deg.C and 5-9.5 pH under aeration and agitation. The L- aspartic acid and L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester may be added to the medium at an arbitrary state in the cultivation. the lower alkyl means methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, etc. |
