摘要 PURPOSE:To permit high-speed erasure by forming a recording layer of an alloy which is the alloy system where the eutectic alloy defined by the exterpolation of the liquid line appears as the metastable phase and which is adjusted within the compsn. range where said eutectic alloy appears as well as a chemically stable dielectric so as to co-exist therein. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer 13 is formed by mixing and dispersing pulverized particles 5 which can attain the two stable states of different optical characteristics with the chemically stable dielectric 16 at a high temp. The mixing ratio of the pulverized particles is preferably selected to 40-80vol%. The pulverized particles 15 consist of the alloy which is the alloy system where the intermetallic compd. or ordered alloy appears as the stable phase in the phase diagram and which is the alloy where the eutectic alloy (deep metastable eutectic alloy) defined by the exterpolation of the liquids line appears as the metastable state thereof and which is subjected to the component adjustment within the compsn. range where said eutectic alloy appears. Such deep metastable eutectic alloy includes an Al-Mg alloy, etc. contg. 40-70atom% Mg.
