Sensitive throttle valves are required for a flow of medium in the ml/min range at a pressure in mbar, particularly when a certain resolution is required. The risk of blockage represents a further problem. For simple applications, for example in pressure-wave switching, the price of a precision throttle valve is a further factor. These factors led to the development of a throttle valve in which a filter is used for throttling. The filter concerned is a sintered filter (1). The flow path is varied by means of a cylinder (8) with a sealing action. <IMAGE>
