PURPOSE:To save labor for operation at the time of transmission by providing control parts for executing prescribed transmission control procesure for a telephone line and a digital line respectively, and at the time of transmission, executing call operation to the digital line at first. CONSTITUTION:At first, a system control part 1 switches a switching part 12 to the communication control part 10 side and transfers data for a number to be transmitted inputted to a network controller 11 through the control part 10. At the time of sending the address number to the digital line, the network controller 11 discriminates a response signal returned from the exchange side, and when 'recognition OK' is indicated, the control part 10 receives the response signal and executes the prescribed transmission control procedure. When a response signal indicating 'recognition NO' is returned from the exchange side, the system control part 1 switches the switching part 12 to the communication control part 7 side and a network controller 9 sends said number to the telephone line through the communication control part 7 to execute calling operation. Thus, which line includes said number can be easily and rapidly decided.
