PURPOSE:To raise absorbing efficiency for vibration energy, by connecting band steel plates which are spirally wound around the outer circumference of a cylindrical lead body, through folded parts of these band steel plates, which are engaged from below and above with each other, for restricting bending shear transformation to be extensible pure shear transformation. CONSTITUTION:An outside diameter restricting member 2 is set densely on the outer circumference of an energy absorber 1 made of a cylindrical lead body. This outside diameter restricting member 2 is formed cylindrically, by folding lateral both sides of each of band steel plates in the opposite directions with each other, in S-shape as forming folded parts 3, and engaging these folded parts 3 with each other as rolling them from below and above, and plasticity is added to this outside diameter restricting member 2 as a whole, by the folded parts 3. By this outside diameter restricting member 2, the bending shear transformation is restricted to be approximated to the extensible pure shear transformation, and at the same time, generation of machine troubles is prevented. |
