PURPOSE:To eliminate a power failure and secure the safety of operation by providing the 1st terminal block mounted on a watt-hour meter main body and the 2nd terminal block coupled detachably with the terminal block, and forming a by-pass circuit in the 2nd terminal block at the time of the replacing operation. CONSTITUTION:When a watthour meter is in use, power-source side wiring lines 4a and 4b and load side wiring lines 5a and 5b are connected to the 2nd terminal block 3, which is coupled in front-rear relation with the 1st terminal block 2 coupled integrally with the watthour meter main body 1. Then voltage terminal metallic fittings 21 and 22, and 33 and 34 are connected, the metallic fitting 34 and terminal metallic fitting 31 are connected mutually by a connection piece 41, and a short-circuiting bar 35 is made to penetrate the iron core of a clamp type current transformer 6. When the watthour meter is replaced, the iron core of the current transformer 6 is released to disconnect the connection piece 41 and metallic fittings 21 and 22 from each other, thereby disconnecting the blocks 2 and 3. At this time, a current is supplied through the metallic fittings 38, 32, and 33. Consequently, the replacing operation is easily performed in safety without any power failure.
